What does tommy offer?

With tommy, you experience the simple, digital way to book rides. Our platform arranges rides and, through the mobile app, enables convenient ride bookings between you and Tirol Bus GmbH, which is officially licensed for chauffeur-driven hire vehicles (NCC – Noleggio con conducente).

Is the platform itself a transport company?

Yes. Tirol Bus GmbH ensures that your ride is carried out reliably – both through ride arrangement and with its own vehicles. If needed, selected licensed third-party transport companies may step in, but as a rule we handle all rides ourselves – so you can always rely on quality and safety.

Who is my contractual partner?

The transport contract is concluded directly between you and Tirol Bus GmbH. This means you always have a reliable contractual partner.

Legal framework in Italy


Is the model permitted in Italy?

Yes. tommy operates exclusively as a duly licensed chauffeur-driven hire vehicle company (NCC) and complies with all legal requirements, in particular:
  • Italian Highway Code – Codice della Strada
  • Legislation governing chauffeur-driven hire services (Law no. 21/1992 and subsequent amendments)
  • Provincial laws of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and municipal regulations

What distinguishes tommy from taxis?

  • All rides must be booked in advance via the app
  • No spontaneous passenger pick-up on the street
  • Prices are shown in the app before departure and paid digitally – they are not government-regulated like taxi fares

tommy is your digital ride service with driver, which you can conveniently book via the app.
Rides can be easily booked online, tracked in real time and paid for digitally.

How is tommy different from traditional taxis?

In which areas is tommy available?

tommy is currently available in the greater Bolzano area, Überetsch, Unterland and the Salten-Schlern area.

How do I book a ride?

  • Open the app
  • Enter your pick-up location and destination
  • Select a vehicle
  • Confirm the ride

Can I book a ride in advance?

Yes, rides can be scheduled in advance at any time – ideal for airport or train station transfers as well as important appointments.

How do I find my driver?

After booking, you receive:
  • vehicle details
  • license plate 
  • driver’s name
  • live location (available from June 2026)

Can I add multiple stops?

Yes, multiple intermediate stops are possible.

Prices & payment

How is the price calculated?

The ride price is based on:
  • distance 
  • ride duration 
  • day of the week and time
  • vehicle type 

Do I see the price before the ride?

Yes, before booking you receive a fixed total price.

Which payment methods are accepted?

  • Credit and debit card
  • PayPal (available from June 2026)
  • Mobile payment (e.g. Apple Pay / Google Pay, available from June 2026)

Do I receive an invoice?

Yes, a digital invoice is automatically issued after every ride.

User obligations

What obligations do I have as a passenger?

  • Correct entry of the pick-up location and destination
  • Being on time
  • Respectful behavior toward the driver
  • Compliance with legal requirements, e.g. seat belt obligation

Can my account be suspended?

Yes, in cases of misuse, non-payment or inappropriate behavior.

Cancellation & no-show

Can I cancel a ride?

Yes, at any time via the app.

Are there any fees?

Yes, if the driver is already on the way, if the free cancellation period has expired, or if you do not show up (no-show). The fees are shown transparently in advance.

Is there a right of withdrawal?

No. Under the Consumer Code, there is no right of withdrawal for transport services scheduled for a specific time.

Safety

Are the drivers verified?

Yes, all drivers are carefully checked:
  • Identity verification – trustworthy drivers
  • Driving licence verification – valid licence and several years of experience
  • Background checks – additional security checks where needed

How is safety ensured?

  • GPS tracking of the ride
  • Driver and vehicle details in the app
  • Rating system for transparency and quality

Can I share my ride?

Yes, the live location can be shared (available from June 2026).

What should I do if there are problems during the ride?

Use the emergency function in the app or contact support.

Privacy

How is my data processed?

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Italian data protection laws.

Which data is used?
